Babel documents three parallel story lines, that of a goat herding family in Morocco with two boys who instigate events by shooting an American tourist on a bus. The second follows a rebellious deaf teenager in Japan struggling with her sexuality, whose father gave the rifle in the shooting to his hunting guide in Morocco. The third follows the American couple’s nanny as she takes their children to Mexico for her son’s wedding.
